I wanted to thank you guys for helping me with my little tank problem. I took this picture last night and I thought I would share. These are my big babies. The 55 gallon tank is a little scratched up but I have had it for about 14 years. We are upgrading in about 2 months (supposedly) to a much larger tank. I think they will be much happier then.
Thanks again.
Lyn

Your catfish is a Synodontis ocellatus. They get to be fair-sized and I use them as companions for lots of my larger cichlids. Give him a ceramic or plastic cave/tube to hang out in, and he'll be a lot happier, however.

Actually I think his catfish is the same as mine. Common name is Domino Syno and the scientific name is Synodontis notatus.

edit: hmmm I checked the other one and it could swing either way.
