Does anyone have any info on this cat? I have one in quarintene right now and I want to know if it'll be good to put in my community tank or if I should keep it seperately. Thanks.

It will be fine in a community tank. Make sure it has a hiding place, it will hide almost all the time during the day. You will very rarely see it in the daytime hours.

I have a spotted raphael and I never see it EVER. I completely forgot he was even in the tank untill one day i turned on the lights in the middle of the night to find him scurrying to his hiding place. He is one of the smaller things in my tank...and he has done great!

I've had my raphael for 8 months and I rarely see it. I'll occasionally spot it when I'm cleaning under driftwood and I'm always surprised to see how much it's grown (especially in girth).

I watch my nocturnal fishes in dim lighting and both my syno and raphael go mad when I drop Omega One shrimp pellets. They're out within moments when the pellet hits the water, scurrying around for the pieces.

They are extremely hardy and a good addition to a night time clean-up crew.

I had one too that I NEVER saw, ever. When I would feed the fish, all I would see is his whiskers poking out of a deco hole. He had me trained to mking sure he had a few shrimp pellets situated under the hole just for him. I tried removing the deco so that I would see him more often but he was completely unhappy without it, so much so that I wound up putting it back just for him.

So the answer to the saftey question is a yes. Good.

I noticed that the fish is totally nocturnal, enough so that I have to use a starlight scope to watch it! THank you.

I've got 3 in my 50 gallon. Also never see them. They're about 10-13 yrs old, and about 5" ( I'm talking length here) they are the fattest fish I've ever had, they get huge around and at least for me have been safe with all other fish, and I've got a school of rasbora espie in that tank. I also have a large pleco so do a lot of night feeding, spirulana wafers, shrimp pellets, plankton pellets, and tetra min. Two of mine pile in one log and the 3rd in another, but it may be that all three would't fit in one. Mine are the spotted ones and I think by looks I've got 2 different kinds or sexes.
