Awhile back, someone had asked about how much slate one could stack safely in a tank (at least, I think it was here lol)....and I had mentioned that I saw a pic of Oliver Knotts with a bunch and I couldn't find it. Well, I just came across it again, so I thought, better wayyyy late than never:p

edit: I think I might have just read that it has a slate bottom on the tank.....

Imagine the weight on that puppy!!! He probably used adhesive of some sort on that. Can't imagine just stacking it up like that.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that he used silicone to do it. Heavy, but it looks neat

Is there anything in say "roof slate" that could effect the water as I have a ton of the stuff in my garden and fancy a few peices in my tank?

Oh Wow!
My next Discus tank!!

Thanks for the link! :D

 Wow beans!! That is incredibly cool! I can't imagine how much it would weigh either, though... Dang. Very nice looking decor though. :)

Couldn't help but to look further.....

Same tank with plants and....

Slated Tank

Hmm.. Guess that didn't work..
The site is worth looking at, especially the "completed" tank. And, there are other awesome looking tanks on the site!

Oh completely. I took the link I did because it showed the slate really well. They are Plantella's tanks (aka Oliver Knott). He's the one who placed 1st place in the AB contest. He sets up and maintains tanks for clients.

Pretty cool ones in there.
