My yelllow tang has developed a white streak on both sides of its body, is this normal? Is he sick??? Thanks, Justin

my yellow tang has white streaks on both sides. hes fine. this isnt my fish but if its the same white line yours has it is fine.

Do you see the stripe when the tank lights are off, or have just come on? If so it is completely normal, nothing to worry about :)

It's normal...nothing to worry about. My YT does the same thing, especially if it gets "upset".

Here's my tang, the one seen in the link above, at night, he gets a very distinct white stripe with brown around it, every night.

I had a yellow Tang which also did this but he died . I don't really think this is a good thing but I'm not an expert. I have a new YT and I don't ever see his white stripe. You have to extra care with this type of tang. They will die if you don't really take care of your water.

i have never seen a yellow tang that didnt have the white stripe. there is absolutely nothing wrong because of the stripe. every yellow tang at inland aquatics has them too. i go there at least once a week.
