Hi. This is my first post on AC. Could someone direct me to info on the proper way to set up a small outdoor pond? I'm still in the preliminary planning stages. I'm not going fancy- I prefer a small pond that leans towards the "natural" approach {no pump}, but I'd like to do it the right way. Thanks.

First of all, welcome aboard to Aquaria Central Fish Forums! The members of AC wish you all the best, and we hope you enjoy your stay here. ;)

I am a little concerned about a small pond having no power, which in turn means no filter, heater (for the winter), and so on. If you were going for a large pond (5000+ gallons) then maybe you could get away with no filters or power. Even then, I would recommend some way to get a current in the pond. This is accomplished with a pump of some sort.

There have been several new posts lately right on this forum in regards to starting a pond. I won't find them each individually, but I encourage you to look at them. I also would like to point you into the direction of a pond website which teaches you ALL you need to know about ponds and their up keep.
