My Cryptocoryne lingua is starting to die off it's big leaf is turning brown at the end and the rest of the leaf is turning yellow..and the other smaller leaf is starting to curl up...What is going on?

Another question...What nutrients does Black Water Expert provide? I've been thinking about buying a bottle of this stuff to buffer my pH because my pH out of my tap is 8.0+

the blackwater stuff gives you basic stuff, Iron and other vitamins, itll improve your fish color, make em vibrant. dont quite know what ya mean by 'buffering your ph.'

Buffering the Ph is a function of Kh and refers to stabilizing the Ph. You should check the Ph,Gh, and Kh of your water in the tank after it has had a chance to outgas somewhat, the #'s will usually be different. Co2 injection is probably the best way to lower the Ph and will do your plants good as well.

Your original question sounds like a nutrient deficiency.
If injecting CO2, you need to know your kH. The amount of buffer is important to know in that case. It will also be important to know so that you can determine the CO2/ppm in the tank.
What size tank? Are you dosing any ferts, and if so, what?

C. lingua is better as a terrarium plant, see Crypt Page's:

I've had trouble with it over time submerged, it grows like mad emergent. If youlike this plant, that is the best method.
I used low light, 1/3 peat, 1/3 sand and 1/3 soil.
These should be repotted every 3-6 months. This plant likes nitrogen.

That makes it worth while to grow as it is a very pretty plant.
