her poor bottom is all swollen and she is beating herself up trying to have these babies.

she keeps rubbing herself all over and frantically swimming around and then takes rest breaks upsidedown i think hoping they will come out........

I WISH there was SOMETHING I COULD DO............

Im thinking she will die eventually if she keeps this up, i dont see alot of change in the way her bottom looks in the last 24 hours...I wish i could ger her a fishie c section (im an ob nurse to top it off)she is really suffering...............

would appreciate some imput.....

When my Molly first had babies she had that puffy stomach for several weeks before giving birth. This was when I was clueless about fish and I kept two males with her. The two males would always fight eachother and torment her but she hung in there like a trooper. Just let nature carry out its course. There's not much you can do but wait. If this is your first time it'll really be great if you could witness her having her babies. When my first Molly had babies she got my by suprise and I wasn't ready to take care of the fry and my tank became an all you can eat sushi buffet. :(

 give a fish a C-section...

its not her first and thats why im concerned

i have her in a seperated part of the tank..........

her belly has been huge for months, its her tail end, last time it almost looked like a outie belly button and i did witness the birth...she didnt labor for more than 2 days........

this has been going on for four and now day five............

i realize i cant do anything..........i just wish i could.....an epidural maybe???? (you can tell i work in ob)

my gut tells me im gonna lose her...........she cant go on like this forever..........

thanks for the reply....

pigwiggon was gone this morning

I prayed that she would either give birth or god would take her because she was suffering so much..........

she was gone this am.......

I have two of her babies from may to remember her by, i will cherish them.........I really loved her, she had so much personality and a very cute fishie................

thanks for asking......

she may have also had an infection or dropsy......

I brought her to my lfs that i always deal with, they have NEVER seen anything like it! i got medicated flakes just in case but i was too late...

did a huge water change and filter change today and am feeding the medicated flakes to EVERYONE just in case it was related to a bacteria.............

piggys fry that are around 5 weeks old are so cute and they are the same color a whitish peach and big blue eyes........they are still pretty small, one smaller than the other, we kid around at work (im in healthcare) that the smaller baby is a "failure to thrive" LOL.........

I hope they will continue to do well..........

thanks for caring.....:p

If you didn't see any signs of dropsy or anything else, she probably died of complications. I've had a few livebearers have that happen to them. It is agonizing to watch. Sorry. :(
