zebra danio faint strips

hi just set up my first tank 120 L got 3 zebra danios and 2 are really bright blue strips and 1 is very faint , they all play together and eat together and seem very happy ( they never stop playing , wish i had that much energy ) most of the time its the faint blue one that chases the other 2 so i dont think he is stressed , so why is he not so blue ( he is nearly white )

With a lot of fish the males are much brighter then the females. At least that's the way it is with most of the Rainbowfish and a few others I've seen.

In Rainbowfish the females look like washed out versions of the males. I'm not sure if this is the case with danios however.

I would hazard the guess you have 2 males and 1 female danios.
