I think first of all you need to keep in mind the following:

- The size of your tank (to many fish in little space is not good)
- PH requierments of all your fish as well as temperature, most of the fish you mentioned can live in similar ph ranges but you have to adapt them.
- filter that you use and how much you feed your fish (you cant feed them to much, much less with a small filter)
- These fishes also like to hide in places
- Do you do some changes to your water?

Special PH requirements for fish is only necessary for wild caught fish and a generation or two after they have been captively bred.

By the time a fish is 3rd or 4th generation captive it is much better all around to simply acclimate your fish to the PH of your tap water. Usually if the fish is bought from your LFS it is most likely already acclimated to the local water conditions including PH.

If you want to make sure ask the LFS what their water parameters are.

black ghost knifefish mostly are shy, need place to hide, sensitive to water quality, and are best kept SINGLY in tank where they can get live, meaty foods without much competitions. If it does not eat during normal feeding time, you have to feed it when the light are out (and all other fishes are asleep), or use a PVC tube to pour frozen boodworms directly into its hiding place!

i have kept black ghost for years now and found that they are a hardy specie once you satisfy those basic requirements
