I rescued an adult pair of oscars that were in pretty bad shape. The female mainly.

She had a small brown thread-like worm inbedded in this 'white spot' on her side. When I treated for flukes the worm died and fell off. But 3 months later and still the white spot on her side remains. I've kept water quality excellent hoping it might go away on it's own. It hasen't changed in size or shape or color at all.

I'm just not sure what it is, or if I should treat with anything. It's almost like her skin is discolored there??!

Any ideas? Here a pic of her.. I circled the 'spot'

Thanks in advance,
Linda

It is definatly scar tissue. My oscar has ascar just like that from when i was trying to move him and he scraped himself on a rock.

Ah ok. Awesome. I never thought of that being scar tissue. I was thinking it was fungus of some sort. They have been through enough treatments for parasites and internal and external worms. I'm glad I don't need to treat for anything else.

She's came a long way from the shape she was in. Her front fins were completely shredded. And the base of her tail is kinked. I believe she is stunted but I guess there is really no way of knowing that for sure.

Thanks all.
