I saw this plant on aquabid Ranalisma Rostrata I was wondering what conditions it thrives under.

I had it, and it did extremely poorly. I bought it in the emersed form. They seemed to change into the submersed form with no trouble, but when I took a few daughter plants and moved them into a different tank, they just sort of sat there for a while, then continued to get scrawnier and scrawnier until I finally chucked them. Granted, the other plants in that tank weren't doing so great, either, but I know it's not as easy to grow as E. tenellus.

I think that as long as you supply ample CO2 and ferts, it should do okay. Lighting demands are pretty much the same as E. tenellus, I'd think. I'm guessing that it gets out-competed for nutrients more easily than some of your easier ground-cover species.

It's worth trying, at least.

Boy, how did you get a hold of that?!? I've been wanting to try Ranalisma Rostrata out, but they seem to be a little more than hard to track down. They are pretty rare. They are pretty touchy little plants, and take a lot of care to keep alive, but the easiest thing is to watch the water parameters, and make sure it has the right amount of co2 and try and root it on a... root, a bog wood root, they do best here. Once they get a good start though, I hear that they don't stop!
