Question on Spawning

After Tank trouble after tank trouble after tank trouble I think Im finally set. My Brichardi that bred once and stopped and now Im wondering could are they ready to breed again. Does anyone know some signs of breeding when brichardi are breeding? I know they dig out a cave for breeeding and they have dug out a cave but the cave is in plain sight. I know food plays a major role in breeding. I am feeding mine Shrimp Pellets, Cichlid Flakes, and Frozen Bloodworms. IS there amy other food I should be feeding my Brichardi to insure breeding. My Ph is around Neutral and I want to raise the Ph to around 8 is there any safe way to do so with out shocking the fish. This may sound like a stupid question but out of curiosity can fish not breed due to loud and heavy music.

Actually the loud music probbably wouldnt help anything...mine go scurrying when my front door closes, and thats two rooms over. Sound travels better through water than air.

Well i have never bread brichardi's only convicts, kribensis, and cory cats...What would do it for the cories was a nice temp change...i would do 50% water changes for 3 days to bring the temp down 5-8 degrees, and feed them blackworms. That would always do the trick. And the convicts, man i wouldnt do anything special at all!

What i would try would be some big water changes, and then try and be quiet, and dont go near the tank for a while, cuz they can see you from in the tank and i bet that doesnt help at all.

thats pretty much all i know to try, hopefully someone else will chime in.

You Said...

You said that you have bred kribs. Well do you know if an Albino Male Krib will show the pinkish-purple belly that a normal Krib would during te breeding period. Also can an albino Male Krib breed with a normal female.

I believe that the albino kribs do get the red bellies around mating time....not sure though. And i would have to assume that albino kribs would breed with regular kribs given the right circumstances. This is all just assumpion on my part because i have never bread albino kribensis.

hope that helps
