Sorry about the small picture. I was having trouble getting it small enough to fit in my message. I just bought a used 55 gallon fish tank from a friend and I had to take the fish also. This was one of the fish I acquired and I did not know what it was! Thanks so much!

Yes Aequidens rivulatus or Green terror. What other fish are you putting in the tank with it? You could not put much in the tank with a GT. They can be rather aggressive and get somewhat large. Also judging by the nuchal hump it is a male, males are more aggressive than females.
Yes it is one of the "Green Terror" species. The white edged fish are rare in the US, but very common in Europe and Australia. You are lucky to find one like this.
wouldnt it be more appropriate to call it a Green Acara? or a Terror Acara? or maybe a Revolting Acara...wait...that doesnt work
