I just bought a compact fluorescent fixture. It came with a 55 watt GE 9325k bulb, and I also bought a 55 watt 50/50 (10000k and Actinic blue) Coralife bulb.

There's obviously a difference in appearance, but is there any nutritional/health difference?

Also, would you keep the light on about 12 hours per day, like a regular bulb?

Live rock, live sand, fish (tang, flame angel, basslets), shrimp, algae critters, soft corals (mushrooms, polyps, leathers, dusters).

Thanks!

Use to 50/50. It provides more blue spectrum than the 9325, and the corals will appreciate that. You could mix, use one of each (if this is a 2 bulb unit ;) ) and be fine, but if you can use only one, use the 50/50.

Thanks. I like the look better with the 50/50 too...especially for the fish. The 9325 is bright, like the fish store reef tanks...but I imagine it would annoy the fish!

Had you always had the cow avatar? Im a cow fan...like those Woody Jackson motifs from Ben & Jerry's...I have one of his cow cutouts in my backyard in New Jersey! Plus, some tee shirts. And I have a great photo of some holsteins in a milking stall..got it at a crafts fair in Santa Rosa, CA.

Thanks again.

:) No, I've only used the cow for a few months now. This one is special--she's a Photoshop issue, complete with continents. ;)
