glass thickness

could anybody please tell me the right glass thickness for a tank 48x20x18 lxhxw,thanks in advance .also as you can tell i'm a total newbie to all of this, so am really glad i found this site, it seems really helpfull and full of people willing to pass on there pearls of wisdom , i just hope i will be able to make a contribution in the future, but until then i hope you can put up with my questions.:confused: :confused:

depends on how you want the top brace.

You can skip the top brace entirely with 5/8" glass.

The tanks youll find in the store with cross bracing on the top will usually come with 3/8" glass.
