Does anybody know of a GFCI that has an audible alarm built into it?

I’m looking into putting in either a receptacle or a portable type GFCI on each of the outlets that service my aquarium. I thought it would be nice if I could find one that puts off an audible alarm when it has been triggered this way I would be able to reset it as soon as possible. If could tell me where something like this is sold that would be great. Thanks.

I'm not sure but if you're handy with electronics, you could scrap an olf smoke alarm, and attach a (activated=open) relay to the test button terminals and to the power on the gfci circuit. that way when power is no longer supplied, the contacts close and the smoke alarm goes off. that should be simple, reliable, and loud enough... just an idea I had though, might need refining...

Never heard of one (no pun intended) but Chicos idea sounds good (pun intended!):D

$12 GFI power strip

If you can skip the alarm, Walmart has a GFI power strip for $12! I have them on all the tanks that are not on GFI outlets.

^^power failure alarm, $41.99

it would cost you less to build your own($5 for the relay, $8 for the smoke detector, and $4 for the cord with plug, $17 and some time) but if you want one pre-built in an attractive case, that's what you need.
