i need to know would this work and what do i need to run it.
fitlers?
power?
rocks etc?

any other advise would be very great full. i do intead to have a larger reef tank one day, it's just to expensive at the moment.

thanks very much.

With a 10 gallon, you really can't have more than 1 small fish. Small gobies and the smallest clownfish or damsels are usually the best bets. The water isn't stable enough for more than that in terms of fish. However, you could also add a very tough coral and/or some small invertebrates.

I'd recommend that you read this thread on setting up a DSB tank:

It pretty well hits on almost all the common early questions about marine aquarium setup.

With a 10 gallon, maintaining water quality is going to be the biggest worry. You will probably want a skimmer for the tank, at least enough powerheads to make 100 gph of current (easy), and a heater. If you opt not to go with a skimmer, think along the lines of twice weekly water changes to keep water quality up. Live rock will not only give you microfauna and algae, it will act as a primary filtration source. If you use a deep sand bed (strongly recommended in this case), that will further handle filtration for you.
