Please help me identify this cichlid

Looks to me like Pseudotropheus zebra, an African Lake Malawi cichlid. Nice picture, that's one beautiful fish!

Thanks for the info! I bought him at Petsmart along time ago. I think I paid $3 for him. He's a very cool fish to say the least!

The mouth and head dont' look right for a ps. zebra.

What was it called when you bought it? or did you buy it froma assorted tank(possible hybrid).

How big is it, is it aggresive?

I think I did got the fish from an assorted tank. I'm not sure. It was over two years ago. He does have a pretty "big" mouth. He's a tad aggressive but not all the time. He does seem to "rule the tank" and go where ever he wants with not to many problems.

hi,i had a fish like that i pritty sure there called a firemouth they have a big mouth aggresive i had him in with my oscars had to take him out he kept attacking them.
