a 75 gallon tank with l00 lbs of live tonga and figi rock running over two months all paremeters perfect.....

i have a canopy "orbit" with bright/blue/acetenic and moonlite lights.

suggestions please for other plants...

we have a sailfin blennie and a foxface rabbit fish and clean up crew currently living happily in the tank...

plan to stay with all reef friendly, laid back community fishies...as much as you can plan for them getting along...

i have some nice coraline alge in the aqua and purple variety taking over some of the rock that got bleached out from a overzelous fresh water dip, thanks to some amazing cured rock (30lbs) i picked up a few weeks ago to add more life..... I just love the corals they are sooooooooooo cool and i love the feather dusters and other funky stuff that came with the rock

suggestions would be appreciated......
sue

I would love some more corals..

i have a list of potential fishies to add, according to my books all reef safe and community type more laid back fishies.. and under l0 inches full grown..

minstral puffer aka sharpe nose puffer, black saddled puffer

catalina goby aka blue banded goby

azure demoiselle, aka bicolor damselfish

ocellaris or clarkii

stripy aka convict fish, footballer

gramma loreto aka royal gramma, fairy basselet

would like ideas for easy corals that are colorful and interesting...

thanks for your input.........
sue

The clowns and gramma are great choices. The catalina goby is a coldwater fish, so it's not a good choice. Lots of better gobies, like greenbanded, neon, or clown gobies. The puffer may nip at your corals.

It sounds like you have a compact fluorescent fixture, what wattage is it?

a dual 65 watt actinic and dual 65 watt daylight and moonlite bulb

this fixture was not inexpensive around 350.00 so im hoping that i was steered in the right direction and that it will be more than adequate for most life forms in a salt water tank...

thanks again for your input, what do you think of this lighting?

sue

That light will be good for a lot of corals, although not everything. Have you got anything in mind? I have seen a lot of soft corals and some large-polyped stony corals do well under that much light.

i would like things that are colorful and interesting to look at......

nothing that is gonna be a potential disaster plant, or that needs hand feeding........

nothing that is gonna take over the entire tank.........

im still very new to all of this.......

would appreciate your suggestions specific corals that may work with this lighting....as they can be very expensive, I would like to avoid the wrong corals and other plant life.....

thanks
sue

Here are some personal favorites, and I hope other people will add theirs.
Anthelia, aka waving hand polyp. Grows fast, but is easy to prune back.
Sinularia, aka finger leather.
Sarcophyton, toadstool leather

For stonies, frogspawn (Euphyllia) and Montipora capricornis will do well if you are attentive to calcium and alkalinity.

Brown or green star polyps are good, but I would keep them on the sand or glass, because they tend to take over the rocks.
