Is this safe? I don't want to put a $10 poisonous animal in my tank if it's gonna get torn up by an overzealous crab.

The tank is currently stocked with an arrow crab, a decorator crab, a emerald crab, red and blue hermits, a coral-banded shrimp, two peppermint shrimp and assorted snails.

I may be going to a LFS later today so I am hoping for an answer soon. Thanks.

What kind of sea slug? Many are obligate feeders and can be tough, if not impossible to keep alive. I would also worry about the arrow crab--they tend not to be safe with soft inverts...

I don't know what the species is called, but it is bright purple.

Well, the brighter and prettier sea slugs are the worst of the lot--they are considered all but impossible to keep alive. Best advice--don't buy, tell the LFS why you won't buy them. They are better off in the sea, or in a species only tank where you can devote time and effort toward keeping them alive. Most will survive for a a few months, but they are slowly starving to death.

Okay, thanks for the straight answer. I'll spend my money on something hardier, like another crab or shrimp.
