I'm still trying to save my female convict from dropsy and just today she laid some more eggs. I didn't think she would be able to. I'm changing the water every other day (25%) to keep the tank water clean. She hasn't gotten any worse and is still maintaining her beautiful colours. She doesn't look like she's dying. Am I overkilling it on water changes? Is the fact that she is reproducing mean that she is getting better?

it wont do ant harm to keep up with the water changes especially after the fry hatch this will help keep all your levels very low which is good for the fry

I don't know if that means she is getting better but the water changes can't hurt. Now, lets get those eggs hatched and the fry free swimming!

Unfortunately, I had to put the female down since she had gotten worse. The male ended up eating the eggs and went into hiding. Now he's out and about and the least skittish I've ever seen him. I'm waiting for my lfs to get more convicts in so I can get another female.
