I have one in my pond now for the last couple of days, and it seems to be doing fine. I was kind of worried because I was told they need brackish water, but in my research I have learned that they adapt well. The only thing is: will it eat algae, Tetra-min, etc, or do I have to do anything crazy for it?

They are supposed to be omnivorous... and my shrimpies are gone... hmmm

Also, will they have any problems with my goldies, guppies, snails, or plecos?

They do need brackish water. If i'm not mistaken they are "ok" in fresh while young, but need a progressively higher salinity as they age. They only go into fresh water to mate or spawn. Some people suggest putting them into marine conditions as adults.

I highly doubt they will eat algae and i bet they ate your shrimp for sure.

Thanks. The second one in a week died on me.... I will pick up this experiment in a 2-gallon tank I found in my garage.

If I make the water brackish, will any of the fish in my signature be able to handle it?

The guppies and mollies are naturally brackish fish. They will probably be dinner when the shark is large enough to eat them.
2 gallons seems a little small though....

It's not permanent... I am just trying to acclimate the shark so it will thrive in the pond... probably the coolest looking fish to look down at, with the other fishes schooling around, minding their own businesses.
