Hi Everyone,

I am in the planning stage for my next tank. It will be either a 5 or 6 foot tank. It will go against a wall that has a bathroom sink on the opposite side. So what I'm thinking is an automatic water changing system.

Looking for advice on both the drain system and the refill side of the system.

Thanks,

Bart

The DIY section at SimplyDiscus.com has good advice on this. You might search there.

Go to www.cichlidtank.com then to community, then message board and submit your request there. There is a person that goes by BP if you want to address him personaly. He has done this to several tanks. He is on vac in Austrailia but should be getting back soon. He posted this once and would be glad to give you all the details. He started that site a few years ago. BP=Black Piranha PS: You will probably have to join the board, its free to access all the areas but it is well worth it. This forum and that one are the two best around and I go between both all the time. ( To the Aquaria Central board, This is not a plug, just helping someone out)

I have used the Meridian automatic water changer with good results in the past and likely will again if I reset any of the big tanks. It works best with dedicated plumbing so that solenoids and timers can be used for control IME. But it can be set on any tap and operated manually during the test phase. This unit only exchanges about 4-5 gallons per hour with my water pressure. It is disdtributed by Aquarium Products I believe.

You likely have to breadboard in dual carbon cartridges for chlorine/chloramine removal.
