Hiya folks, thanks in advance for the advice...

I have a 2-yr old redtailed shark, and it appears he has some sort of bubble on one eye. I had noticed a white, milky patch on his eye a few weeks ago (almost looked like a cataract), but it was gone within 2 days so I thought nothing of it. This bubble he has now is clear and pronounced. Covers about 30% of his total eye, right in the middle.

I'm pretty good with upkeep, bi-weekly water changes and I have a very low fishload. The shark does not have any lesions or oddities on any other part of his body, and all other fish in the tank appear unaffected.

Ideas?

Is it possible he sustained an injury on a decoration or sharp gravel? I've also heard of fish getting tumors in their eyes (unfortunately, not much you can do in that case). Since it's only affecting one fish, and only one of that fish's eyes, I'd suspect something other than disease. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Keep an eye on your fish and post with any changes. Hope he gets better.
You might also want to test all the water parameters, and keep the tank extra-clean while he's injured, and if it looks like he's getting worse or other fish pick on him you might want to move him to a hospital tank for observation.
