Opinions on Backgrounds

I'm having trouble making up my mind (no snide remarks!) and wanted to get some input.

I currently have a "fake" background scene taped to the back of my 75 gal tank. I've looked at lots of the tank pix and can't decide if I should dump it or not. I feel strongly both ways!

I have 2 Emperor 480 bio wheel filters, 2 heaters and two light fixtures. The tank is in front of a big picture window. I put the background there bcuz I didn't want to see all those cords and stuff hanging down behind the tank. Plus the bodies of the filters just look tacky. But then, when I look at pix of tanks without a fake scene, they look so much roomier, and I'm thinking the fish might like it more.

I can't post a picture right now - my camera is broken.

Whatchy'all think?
 
I have a solid black background on one tank and a picturesque background on one tank. I like both the backgrounds. The picturesque background goes very well with my substrate (pea gravel and Playsand), slate/rocks, and plants. The black background goes well with my substrate (black sand) and ceramics. So overall, I think there is a different background to match every tank. With so many background options to choose from, I wouldn’t just settle on one over the other. There are a lot of great DIY 3D background idea’s out there to choose from also.
 
Black background is my choice. I like the contrast a black background provides...

I have solid black on my planted tank and solid blue on non-planted community. I like both. I think the black enhances the appearance of the plants and works well with the eco-complete substrate color. Take a look at the tanks under my tank specs.

Solid colors all the way, I also think. I like black. Actually, on mine I do not have solid black. I had some left over black marble contact paper that I used. I think it looks pretty good. Also, with a background, when you slope the gravel it gives you the appearance of depth.
 
I have one of the backrounds with fake plants and driftwood and such. I think they are very nice and add alot of colour to the tank. But the ones with fake fish... now thats to much
