Hello, I recently decided to go with compact lighting for future live rock/anenomie use. However, I am a bit confused. I now have a 38 gallon tank, but I dont know how the hoods for those systems work. I am thinking of ordering a compact lighting hood from this site "http://www.aquadirect.com/store/customer/home.php?cat=343" Right now I have a hood with just 1 single strip bulb. However, it has room for me to mount my hang-on filter/protein skimmer. Will this compact hood have room for me to mount my hang-on filters? Also, I am not sure what size to get? I see 8,16,24,36,48, and 60 inch, what size do i need, my dimensions are "36 1/4 x 12 5/8 x 19 3/4" Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

The CF lights are built to sit either on the rim of the tank, or on legs that you can buy (usually separate from the hood). I've built canopies that the hood sits on as well--easier, since the double strip lights typically cover just over half the tank, and make using a glass top problematic. You'll want the 36 inch unit--these lights are sized for the long measurement of the tank.
