I seem to have a problem with water escaping through the seam between my tank and hood. It looks as if the water is condensing on the hood and escaping through the seam and running down the sides of the tank. Anyone know what I can do to stop this?

You could look into a class top that fits on the lip of your tank, if it has one, and a reflector that sits on top rather than a one piece construction.

I'm thinking the same, If you don't have a glass top that might be the answer, if you do, I'm suprised you get that much condensation. What is the temp differential between you tank and the room? Also a fan installed in the end of the hood might do the trick either way.

Unfortunately this hood does not have a glass top. It came with the tank as part of a kit. The room temp. is 71F and the tank temp. is 78F. It just started doing this quite recently. I think I will go get a hood with a glass top. I don't like this hood much anyway as the floating plants grow towards the light and get burnt by the heat of it. I need something between the plants and the light.

not positive as I don't know your hoo design, but you should be able to purchase just a simple hinged glass top and place it on your tank under the hood.
