I found a fluke in the tank so went to the local to ask for asstance and was given, Waterlife STERAZIN.

When i added the required amount my redmelon went completely nuts. swam rapidly through the whole tank banging into the glass and eventually flew out the top!!
Since then he has died, about 1.5 hours after leaping free from water. When he landed out of the tank i quickly scooped him up and placed him back in. He wasn't breathing so i held it upright in the water and slowly moved it in a forward direction. After about 30 seconds to 1 minute he started breathing again and i thought he would be fine.

I'm thinking that he died from the shock but why did he go nuts as soon as i started to add the medication????

please help explain!

What are the ingredients for the medication? I do believe that discus are sensitive to copper, but I'm not sure.

Also, you said you found a fluke in the tank. Was it on a fish? If not, where was it? How can you be sure it was a fluke?

It was a gill fluke.

I dont know what the main ingredients are in the medication.
I should have put in the first thread that there are two other discus in the tank and they were uneffected by the med!

no expert but possible reason. If you added the med maybe it affected any flukes attached to him and was causing him pain?

If he had open wounds from the flukes he might have had the meds enter his system.
