I had 3 of these snails and then they gradually disappeared and died off. My last one just died this week and had grown quite big. My tank is 75gal FOWLR. I have about 90 lbs of LS and the same LR. 5 fish altogether, 2 clowns, 1 Yellowtail Damsel, 1 Yellow Tang and 1 Coral Beauty Angel. Anyone out there have any ideas? I do a 10 gal water change about every week so I can't believe its my water.

possibly not getting enough food? Are there any other inverts in the tank that are doing ok?

I remember reading recommendations that these need two square feet of open sand for grazing per inch of shell. Probably starved.

starvation might have happened, but I feel 2 ft per inch of conch is much. I havea 75 with about 9 conch's in it and they use the glass sides eating algae as well as rock. They like the sand but also go everywhere where the food is.

This may not be the reason, but has your coral beauty ever been harassing your inverts. They've been known to nip inverts and corals, people I know have had ones that do and don't. I've never owned them because I have corals and I just don't want to take the risk. Just shooting a suggestion out there

I did allow the algea to grow in my tank so that these guys had something to eat. Never did see them climbing the glass. The last one to die grew to about 1.5 inches and never did see my CB attack any of my inverts.
