I have always had goldfish and tetras but have decided to start up a neqw tank. I have a 30 gallon tank that I have put 10 tiger barbs in. I'm wanting to purchase some angelfish but unsure if this will work out with the barbs. I have read alot of conflicting things on the internet. Does anyone have any experience with these fish as tankmates? Are there any cool looking fish I can put with the tiger barbs? It seems as if my options are kind of limited.
Any advice would be appreciated!

with 10 tiger barbs They won't be as nippy as if you had only 2 or 3, but I wouldn't put angelfish in with any nippy fish. those long "feelers" are irresistible. With 10 tiger barbs, you could probably get away with most normal-finned fish.

I wouldn't advise putting more than one angelfish in a 30g (unless you had a mated pair), period, since they get pretty big and can be agressive with each other in tight quarters. Add in the fact that there are tiger barbs, and I'd say it's just asking for trouble to add even one angel to the tank. CR's right, their fins are sooo tempting for nippy little barbs!

Buy some cory's or a small pleco and some different small barbs. If I'm not wrong that would be a nice mix. If I were you, I'd go for:
10 TB's
2 Dwarf Cory's
5 Rosy barbs
This Looks good to me. However, you'll want to get someone else's opinion on this as I am fairly new to all this fish stuff.

By the way--Angels & TB's are a definite no-no.

personally, I don't like the look of mixing different, but similar fish, like TB's and RB's. Also, the cories like to be in larger groups. I have 6, and the group dynamics are fun to watch.

Just thought I'd throw in my $0.02.

ooo a group of about 5 panda cories to go with your tiger barbs would be cool. I think that's about fully stocked though. TB's can actually get pretty big and they're voracious eaters.
