I think I'm going to have a nervous breakdown.

Ivan should pass over a fair chunk of both Jamaica and Cuba. That should take some of the steam out of it, hopefully.

I know what you are talking about. This one I'll be in Maryland going to school for two weeks. So the family will be left alone at home.

After this season of bombardment, I think all new buildings in Florida will be built bunker style!

Actually, I am doubtful if there is much that will slow this one down (or "calm" it). It is a category 5 at the moment with winds at 160 mph. Even if it weakened to a category 4, it could easily gain speed/strength in the gulf. I have relatives in Tampa, so I know all about the worrying. However, I cannot imagine the fear in the ones who have homes around these areas. :sad

I agree on this one. The last 2 have been what 1 and a 3, but they still caused a lot of damage. Most people that was affected in the last 2 hurricanes are still trying to recuperate from them.

Another thing that we'll have to be watching for is flooding. The ground is still saturated from all the rain that we recieved.

During the worst of hurricane Charley, you understand fear when you hear what sounds like your roof being ripped from the house. The eye of that hurricane went right over us... Frances was about 20 miles or so south, but the winds lasted much longer.

We can't handle another one at this time.....

Looks like no part of Florida is immune... good luck to all in the path of this one. Looks nasty.

Yeah, and both Frances and this monster both ended up in TN, just in time to screw up my weekend. Don't they know that UT plays Florida this week??! Come on people, enough is enough.. :mad2

I'm hoping this forecast stays the same. We're getting married on Saturday and flying down to disney on Sunday. If this track holds true we'll have decent weather for the outdoor pictures at the wedding and make it down to FL after the storm has passed.

Right on the front page, the "Eye of The Storm." I've considered monolithic domes as a potential retirement home for years. Everyone in Florida should be rebuilding with one of these.

Lets just hope it doesn't gain back strength and get bad. AGAIN.

Who knows, Ivan won't go away, so maybe, POSSIBLY, it could get worse once it is sent from texas into the ocean... :(
