I have a 55g FO tank with a little live rock. My lights consist of 2-18w flourescants (sp?). I want to upgrade. My objective for the upgrade is to do only a few things: Improve the appearance of the tank and fish, be able to grow corralline and sustain live rock, possibly obtain anenome for my clown fish and I like feather dusters (have no idea what kind but I may look into that). I'm not looking at going into a full blown reef tank right now.

As I look at power compact lighting I have found a few different systems that seem comparable.these systems can be purchased in a 130 or 260wattage output in 48". Will I be able to do what I want to do with the 130w lights or should I go ahead with the 260? the price doubles with the output.

I think my tank depth is around 18", its a normal 55g tank.

I appreciate your help.

If you forget about the anemone, 130 watts will be fine. Coralline will do well with relatively low light, and worms don't need any.

Anemones need intense light and excellent water conditions. Unless you are willing to provide "reef" conditions, I would skip it.
