Nocturnal Oscar???

my 2.5 inch tiger oscar is always not swimming when the light are on and sort of lying on the ground. when the ligghts go off the thing gets up and goes. do i have anything to worry about help quick thanks!

maybe it doesn't like lights, is your light really bright?

lights doesn't seem to affect my O, but since they have so much personality i won't be surprised if they have preference to lighting.

he might think your light is actual sunlight and refuses to come out, afraid of being prey.

my light is not bright at all it sort off just is "sick" when the lights are on thanks

Is it a new fish? Mine was very shy during the day at first. If it is new, try just leaving the light off in the tank for a couple days until he gets settled in.

hrm. or maybe you could leave the light on for a few days so that he gets used to it (the light).
