I was recently treating for ich, and it's been quite the battle, I must say. I was given Greenex to treat, and I've treated for the 5 days, every other day, and the ich is more or less gone, but I have just noticed that they both have a large amount of film on one of their eyes. It was blue before, and both of their eyes had it, but now it has moved to one eye, and it's terrible on my B'fly. Any suggestions?

I'd try a pretty massive water change. Some s.w. fish are more sensative to copper than others and it might be iritating it's eyes. I hope you didn't dose the meds in your main tank because if you did you can pretty much forget about having inverts. The copper is really poison to them and it's nearly impossible to get out of your tank. Do a big water change and it should help the problem with your fish.
Best of luck and keep us posted

i talked to the person that i trust the most about fish, and he explained that it was a bacterial infection after treating for ick, kind of like what we get if we don't clean a cut. he gave me some pills to put in the water, and i have seen DRASTIC improvements in the last day, but i am getting worried that i am pumping my fish with too much medicine. my boyfriend suggested having a hyposalinity tank so that the parasites can't live because of the conditions, but i don't know what else to do to prevent my fish from getting sick. i've had a LOT of bad luck, and i don't know what more to do. once i finish the medication with the fish, i will be changing my water, because i am due anyway.

How often do you do water changes and what kind of diet, lighting etc are your fish getting? Fish get diseases most often from having a distressed imune system due to things like poor water quality, overcrowding, diet etc..

i have only had my tank for about a month and a bit, and today was
my first water change. i premixed the salt in a bucket and got the
exact salinity and just went from there. i emptied about a little over a
third of my tank, i figured it was well-deserved. my fish have been
eating brine shrimp, and i fed them seaweed, those who ate it anyway.
i learned that part of the reason why film had developed on the eyes
of my fish was because the salinity change was done too quickly, and
sadly, i lost a fish. my butterfly is doing very well, and his ich is pretty
much gone, and i haven't seen any film on his eyes. my only concern
lately is that he hasn't eaten in three weeks. i was told that when you
get new fish, they usually don't eat for a few days, and i figured it was
very normal when he didn't for a couple, but then he got sick and i knew
that he wouldn't eat anyway. now that he is almost fully healed, i have
tried to feed him, but he absolutely refuses, and he won't touch seaweed.
the lighting in the tank isn't exactly what i wanted, but i have one blue
light, and that's all, but i am looking for another light for my fish.
