I just noticed that my yellow box fish is covered in little white spots. Is this Ich?? I have a yellow tang and he looks fine. How do i treat the yellow box fish? What are the chances of the tang getting it?

Thanks for any help.

Ich is contagious but usually you will have better luck controlling it if your fish already have a good immune system and water parameters are correct. I suggest a seperate tank. And slowly increase the heat which will cause the ick to have a faster life cycle. Also if you medicate be sure to remove any carbon

It sounds like Ick/Velvet to me. Boxfishes are prone to external parasites, but it's very easy to treat them. If your tank is fish only, you can add chelated copper sulfate directly to your main tank. If not, use a quarantine tank (Do not use a net when transferring your boxfish!). Also, garlic/liquid vitamins-soaked food will help the recovery process. There is a very high chance that your tellow tang already got Ick, but it's just that it's asymptomatic for now. I recommend you to treat the entire tank just to be sure.
