I've been lurking around long enough. I'd like to thank everyone for all their advice and stories, I've learned A LOT from these forums.

Currently, I have an empty 25g tank that I'm getting ready. Washing gravel, filling, assembling, fun :p I'm planning on doing a fishless cycle, if I can find ammonia out in the boonies. Lack of transportation makes things difficult.

So hopefully, in a month or so I'll be stocking.
Tentatively (based on limited LFS stock)
6ish zebra danios
6ish tetras and
1-2 corys

looking at the list, I could quite easily be overstocked though. Ahh decisions decisions. I've got 4-6 weeks to decide. :D

Hello and welcome to AC!

Cories like to be in groups of *at least* three. In a tank that size I would get maybe 5 small cories, but that's just IMO.

What kind of tetra are you looking into? You could do a beautiful South American themed tank with various tetras and cories (minus the danios-- they're hyper suckers, be warned :p)

Cories prefer to be in groups of at least three, though I'd get several if I were you. I don't think you'd be overstocked even if you did up the cories to 5 or 6. It also depends on what type of tetras you want since they come in so many sizes.
I live in the boonies, too, and I found pure ammonia in my grocerystore. No name brand is usually the pure stuff. ;)

edit-Aquarius and I posted at the same time, so you got two of the same answers. Must be good advice! :p

I was at the LFS today, the danios don't look to hot. They're either just very pale or albino, and not too healthy looking. I'm tempted to say that the local evil massively huge blue store has better looking stock.

btw, just filled up the tank tonight. It looks pretty nice IMO. my apartment has wood panelling on one wall, and it makes a nice background.

Thanks for the ideas.

Corys are so cute :D

Edit - YAY!! Everything is plugged in and running. I'm exhausted from hauling water. Tomorrow I go ammonia hunting.
