I set up a 6 gallon nano about a yr ago at my girlfriends house. She wasnt exactly taking care of it so i moved it to my house. I took all live stock out. drained the water added a extra 2inches of LS washed the LR (which is beautifuly colored with red and green coraline). After adding new water and new filter media I noticed about 3 days later there is somthing growing all over my LR. THere are a bunch of these little orange vein looking things. they are all about the size of the tip of a Qtip. They are starting to spread out. Looks like orange blood viens. Is this good? Cant get a decent pic sorry.

Sounds like a type of sponge. Seldom a problem, but they can spread. Just make sure it doesn't start overwhelming any corals, and you should be fine. You might want to be gentle handling it--some sponges have silica spikes within them that can be irritating to your skin.

I sometimes get those popup periodically in my 15gl, bad thing is, my 6-7" chocolate chip starfish usually eats them before they get any bigger.
