coral banded shrimp

If they are still growing, yes. I thnk they are one of the shrimps that have a set adult size, and once they reach it, they quit molting, so any limb loss after this time would be permanent.

good to hear thanx guys. i took a cbs out of my nano because he was getting to big, and stupidly i used a net, and of course he got stuck to it. i thought i did the right thing by just leaving the net in the tank, but when i came back, the claw was still in the net, and he was under a rock :thud:

he molted and has a new claw. by far the coolest thing i have witnessed in this hobby so far :)

shrimp limbs

Hey there just found this site randomly from ask jeeves, same sorta thing my Freshwater blue shrimp lost a claw last night and wanted to know if it was going to grow back. How many molts on average would a freshwater shrimp have? I have seen mine molt twice thus far and we have had him for a few weeks.

Dunno how he lost it, mustve been the other shrimp in there =/ can they simply lose limbs during a molt?
