Hi all I was just wondering how far away from my other coarl I should put frogspawn. I was looking to add it but wanted to make sure it was placed right.

Also do I have to worry about it stinging me when I place it in the tank? I would assume it will be in full defense mode after being moved around so much during transport. Obviously a lot of people have them so I assume they are safe to handle. Can I just use a pair of aquarium cloves to place them to avoid the sting?

I just handle 'em barehanded.

All of the Euphyllia have fairly long sweeper tentacles, so it should be placed where it cannot reach other corals. I've never seen mine sweep any further than about four inches from a fully extended state, but don't know whether that is typical or not.
 
my frogspawn just ''stung'' me last week, it hurts... leaves little white dots where they got you, its weird.
 
slightly off topic, slightly on, more off topic than on, but one of my coworkers was handling an anemone and accudentally but stung pretty good (bad?) and it didn't hurt him, but about 5 min later his arm was totally numb.

I'm no expert, but I know even if you can't feel it they're injecting neurotoxins into you, and I'd rather stay away from those. Personally, I'd wear gloves. it's not a huge hassle and saves you from worry.
 
yeah handle the ''hard part'' of the hard coral :)... my clown knocked it over, and its tenticles pulled in... when i put my hand in there and lifted it back up it decided it was comfortable and the tenticles came back out rather quick. It hurt more when washing my hand.
 
I've only been stung by a coral once personally... I was scuba diving in belize and brushed my leg (the whole length) on a fire coral. Those things can hurt. muchly. ow.
