I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for what to feed some corals I have. Are any brands better then others and what is best. Most of the corals I have I read that they eat plankton or brine shrimp. I have Star Polyps, Goniapora, Trachyphyllia radiata, and a Leather (i am not certian what kind it just said leather at the LFS) I will get a pic of them when I can. I read that the Trachyphyllia radiata should be fed small pieces of shrimp or squid at night when the tenticles come out, the LFS said to just use a turkey baster to feed it some brine shrimp once a week. This is where I get confused as I read something and told another. As for trace elements I have Kent Reef Starter which includes: Iodine (4oz), Strontium & Molybdenum (4oz), Liquid Calcium (4oz). Is there anything else I would need to get at this time? Thanks for any help you can give.

I have never target fed leathers or green star polyps, and they have grown very rapidly. They just need good light and circulation. It's possible they are getting some nutrition from the food that goes in for the fish.

Frozen mysis will be good for the Trachyphillia. I hate to be a downer, but the Goniopora will probably look great, and then die within 6 months. They simply should not be sold, because their care requirements are not understood.

I only supplement calcium and carbonate for my corals. Everything else comes from food and water changes.
