Stocking suggestions for my 50 gal

Well now my 6ft tank is up and running my 50gal is looking somewhat empty. A combination of some being moved into the bigger tank and some of them serving as food for the bigger guys along with just the odd old age death that never got replaced.
I want the tank to remain quite peacefull and leave the aggresive cichlids to the big tank. The current stock is as follows:
2 x 3" Kissing gouramis
1 x Pepperpot catfish
2 x mollies (one silver one dalmation)
2 x Giant Danio's
1 x Congo Tetras
1 x 3" red tailed shark
1 x 2" ancestius Plec
1 x 3" archer fish temporarily (will need to move to brackish eventually)
1 10" fire eel (will prob move over to big tank when bigger)

So I will def get some more catfish for the little guy prob another four.
I do like the congo tetras so somemore of them woul be good.
I don't want to continue with giant danios so I wont get anymore of them.
and I would like to get an angel fish or two.
So any suggestions?
Nothing that requires soft water please as I live in a very hard water area.
 
Well,with 3 kissing gouramies in there, it will be full once they hit adult size...I'd move them to a bigger setup. If the archer and the eel get moved to a brackish setup, then you have a bit of space. Filling out the cat group, and the congo tetras, would be good. I'd probably avoid angels unless you can find a local breeder, since they prefer softer water, and even then you'll need to be careful with the shark, as it might be aggressive to the angels. I'd look at some rainbows, personally--so many colors and sizes, and most are fairly hardy.
 
Sorry its just 2 gouramies that are both about 3" at the mo. I thought if I encrease the congo tetras to five and the cories to five and add two angels.
I have a local supplier and they are captive bread so are well used to the hard water here. I dont think I have any fish that will nip them. I have had my shark about 6 months now and he is a real softy he dosent even have a territory just swims around. My last angel was badly nipped but I couldnt work out who was doing it then I watched as the Oscar ate him head first one day so I guessed that answered that question! :p

So do you think that stocking will be okay?
 
In the short term--I still think the kissing gouramies will seriously overstock the tank whenthey are adults. I would also expect a behavior change in the shark--they tend to school and be peaceful as juveniles, but really become territorial as adults. I wouldn't add anything until you've removed those you intend to remove though--then you can replace them with less shock to the biofilter.
