I always did my regular water changes during breeding. I would worked around them. (although it was never far enough away for them :) Got bit a few times.

Yeah, nothing like being attacked by a breeding convict.....:D I also did my regular maint. while they were breeding. Once convits decide to spawn, not much is going to stop it. HTH.

Yes I recommend it. It will help keep the water clean and that will help the parents and the babies.

wheh my fish (ble acaras) are breeding i change water twice as ofter (twice a week) that way the fish have the best water. they seem to like it since once their brood is taken out of the tank, they immediately breed again the next day, they just breed to d@mn much!
