I have read a lot of articles about people buying new plants then putting them in their aquarium and getting a outbreak of snails. I was wondering if you should quarantine or wash your plants somehow before introducing them into your aquarium? If you should keep them in quarantine, how long should they stay there?

I QT everything organic. Four weeks is my minimum.

But I have no issues with snails. I keep red ramshorns, common pond, MTS - some or all in all my tanks (except puffer or loach tanks, where they are eaten) and culture some besides (for puffer food).

Excessive snail numbers indicate a tank problem (excessive food or nutrients).

I agree. I would love to get some common pond snails but everyone here hates them and gets rid of them out of the tanks at the shop saying they are unsightly and won't keep them round for me to pick them up. I guess my tank is kept to clean?
