I have a reef tank 4x2x2 and I have a red stripe angel, a purple yellow tailed tang and a few hermit crabs. I was wondering if there is another tang that I could put in to help eat algae.

I probably wouldn't risk another tang. If you have to get one make sure it's from the species of tangs . "Example hippo's and yellows get along most of the time while yellows and scopas will have WWWIII and I can't remember the species names to save my life." You might want to either add more snails or maybe a lawn mower blenny," keep an eye on it though some of them are a bit nippy." What are your water parameters," do you use ro water", and how long has your tank been set up? Excess nutrients are usually the culprit though if you have enough snails etc in the tank .

If I'm doing the calculations right, your tank comes out to be 119 (+/-) gal. That's enough for one Tang...but you may be able to get away with it if you get another one that's a different body shape than the one you have.

Try getting a Convict Tang. They are VORACIOUS algea eaters. I had 2 15lb piece of live rock that were COMPLETELY covered in 3" hair algea. I put both piece in my 200gal. tank and within 2 days, they were CLEAN!
