Ok, one of my friends gave me 2 orandas for my birthday, thinking that I could just "throw them in" with my other fishes. yes, that would be true in some cases how ever, there are a few tiny problems.

Tank 1 contains 4 Blood Parrot Cichlids, If I put them in there, there's a good chance that they'll get murdered.

tank 2 contains one Flowerhorn Cichlid, if I put them in there, they'll definately be murdered.

do when I got home, I quickly placed the orandas in a tub, there wasn't any time to float their bags seeing that they were poorly packaged by the (L?)FS and most of the air has leaked out of the bag by the time they got to me.

anyway, they seem to be doing ok, I placed an order for a 23 gallon tank, it'll arrive on friday. and I just want to show you all the basin to see if it would be an ok temporary residence for them ( I chaged 50% of the water twice daily)

ohyea, one of them has this large black dot on it's head, I'm not sure wether if it's a fungus or just a result of poor breeding, but it seems energetic to me and it's still eating so I', not too worried.

Could you possibly pick up a new large plastic garbage can to house them in until the new tank gets here? In the 30 gallon range?
The more water volume you can give them the better.

And if it is not to late to change your mind about the 23 gallon, switch to something larger- that won't do for very long with Goldfish.

Don't worry about the black mark. It can simply be part of their color or a result of past ammonia burn- good clean water (and lots of it) is the best treatment.
