I was looking at profiles tonight and i came accross the salmontail catfish (Hexanematichthys leptaspis)(scientific name is Arius leptaspis) . Has anyone had one of these or heard of em? I've tried to run a search on dogpile.com, and here which turned up nothing really useful, or just very redundant information. Almost all sights turned up the same exact comments (word for word) as fishprofile.com did. So I was just wondering if anyone has any additional information on the fish.

Or if anyone knew of a fish that looks like this one, but for freshwater, and possibly not as large. I really like the look of this cat but I don't have a brackish tank. If I can't find anything that look like these fish I may have to go with a pictus which are pretty cool, but I like these better.

You could try www.planetcatfish.com. They have forums over there that are strictly for catfish. It's a fairly informative sight if you are only inquiring about catfish. They also have a section called catElog where you may find more info on the catfish you are looking for.

So I'm assuming all cats that look like these are very large, and will eventually need to be in brackish/marine tanks huh. That stinks. Well, if anyone knows of any cats that look similar to this one, but for freshwater, let me know.

Yeah I like the columbian sharks too but as I stated I don't have a brackish tank so thats what lead me these cats.

How about something from the Mystus genus? Mystus pulcher gets about five inches and looks like this:

Hmmm...pic isn't showing, but try doing a google image search for mystus catfish
