Will they still hang with a different breed. Or do they need to all be the same to Be part of the "school"

It depends. I have some skunks and some peppers, and they don't really hang out together at all. But, they are very different in size. If you stick with species that get to about the same adult size, people report better schooling behavior.

If you just want more than one look to your corys then you could try albinos and bronzes. they have different apperances but are actually the same species (the albino is just the albino strain of bronze) and so go together fine. They'll even breed with each other.

in my 55 gallon tank, i probably have 4 different species of cory, and they seem to hang out.
