I took back the FW lions and got a third snail and a clown loach. after acclimatin the clown loach swims right where my JD's are garding their babies. Naturally they get pissed but the clown swims under the flower pot where they cant get to him. I think he had a death wish.
mine do that also. I had a Midas/RD lay some eggs and all four of my Clown loaches don't mind getting chased away, I guess they like to play with death . Do you only have one clown? I think they do better in groups of at least 3.
Its good to hear you still have babies.
right now i only have one. I cant find any local stores that have them and this one caught my eye the other day. Hopefully I will make it to houston next friday after pay day and pic up 2 to 3 more. If i can get my scanner working ill post pics.
yea its best to have more than 1. Mine have no fear of my rd. He chases them away they come right back. Cool fish. But they do grow slow. Ive lost mine so many times. I came home from work one night no loaches, man I was pissed I thought he (rd) had finally ate them. The next morning there they are. I finally figured it out. They had dug a tunnel uderneath some rocks. I also have 1 tinfoil barb that thinks he's a clown loach its funny to watch.
I used to have clown loaches and they always hid in this rock i had in the tank. and when i took it out, they jsut dug a hole under another rock, they are very oddd fish but very beautiful also. They do grow slow i had 4, for about a year and they only grew like 2". up to about 4" . They are very susseptible to Ich too since they are a scaleless fish, so be sure to keep the water in pristine condition.
