Hi everybody, I'm new to the site and to fish, really. I have a jewel cichlid currently, so I'm not totally clueless, though. Anyways, my question is this:
I have a 20-gallon aquarium with a filter and gravel- no top, no lights, no water, no plants, no fish yet :p That all comes later. Now, I'm thinking of getting two Kribensis- if they breed, they breed, but that's not my main goal. What other fish could I maybe add with them? I also have a 10-gallon tank, not clue what to do with it :p

Kribensis get about 10cm long, so your tank is to small :(
(go with a betta)

Huh?? 20 gallons is too small for kribs?? :( I've never seen that anywhere else on the internet. Do you mean for a pair of kribs, or just one? because I'm pretty set on at least one. Any suggestions?
ps- what are img tags?

i have always read that a 10 gallon is suitable for a pair of kribs, so in my opinion a 20 would be just fine. i love your icon, really cute :)

Thanks- it's my kitty Pogo :p :p He's a freak.

IMO a 10g is too small for a pair of kribs, but a 20 will be fine.

it's a 20 reg, I think- 24" l x 12" w x 16" h.
My sister :bowing: and her boyfriend :bowing: (both big fish nuts) both say I could maybe put in a few congo tetras to keep the kribs from beating up on each other, plus they're from Africa as well. Good idea?

good idea to put congos or some other type of target fish in with a pair of kribs to act as target fish and encourage breeding. just go for something fast and without overly flowing fins.
I currently have a pair with fry in my 15gal spawning tank.

A lot of people will tell you X gallons is too small for y fish. When they say this they mean the max size of the fish. You can put 20 1/4 inch oscars in there, as long as you realize it will be too small for them and move them/sell them when they get bigger. at 4 1/2" I think 20 gallons will be fine for 2, but if you get them at say 1", you have some time to consider buying a larger tank.
