So I finished the stand and the tank is on the way. I am thinking of stocking with a blue acara, a pair of firemouths, a female salvini and or a female Jack Dempsey. Filters are a pair of emp 400's. Heaters are a pair of 200 watt Ebo's, lighting is a single 40 watt All glass strip light. Going to use a mixture of pebbles, rocks and a few plastic plants.
Sound okay?

I'm all over that but there is only the oak color left and thats not my choice as it won't match the 90 on the opposite side of the room.
But for 50.00 ...we'll see...

Sounds excellent, I have much the same set up as you can see.
I recomend having a sand substrate I find it a lot easier to maintain and it looks cleaner. plus its funny watching the firemouth gob mouthfulls out a the araca.
The acara and firemouth are so sweet, they follow each other around all day!

Thanks Cat, I had thought to go with sand, but I think I will use that dark browsn pea gravel from the LFS mixed with some real smoothed by Lake Ontario gravel. I wanted to do a 'realistic' look and I think when the inhabitants get to digging size they should be able to handle the pea gravel.
